Utilities

We hope it’s obvious that the condition of utility lines (drainage, water, gas, electric, cable) that might run in, under, or through walls and slab-on-grade foundations and those that run underground cannot be determined due to construction.

We always try to find your utility meters and shutoff valves or disconnects. In some condominium complexes, they are in locked utility closets and are accessible only by homeowners’ association representatives or qualified utility service personnel.

The main electric circuit breaker typically is located in an electric panel on the inside of the house near the electric meter (see Figure 1 and 2), although it can vary for condominium complexes, where you may have to contact your homeowners’ association to find or have access to the meter and main circuit breaker since they might be in a locked utility closet.
